Sage is an astringent, tonic and healing herb, excellent for relieving sore throats. It originates from the Mediterranean region, is widely used to fight digestive diseases and is traditionally associated with longevity. It grows on dry, sunny hills in temperate regions. Its leaves are mainly used, but also its flowers.

In the common cold
It is a good choice to use in cases of sore throat, tonsillitis, and even in periamygdala abscess. It is the classic herb for hoarseness and pharyngitis.
In oral hygiene
It has antiseptic and antimicrobial action and is extremely effective for gargling in cases of certain diseases of the mouth and gums. Fights cold sores, gingivitis and stomatitis.
In menopause
It has an estrogenic effect and fights various of the symptoms, including night sweats. Stopping sweating in any case is considered one of its main features.
Antispasmodic
Relieves headache, dysmenorrhea and dizziness.
In the digestive system
It causes heat in the stomach and thus has a digestive effect. It also acts against flatulence, diarrhea, gastritis and stimulates the digestive system.
Alzheimer's disease
Modern research has shown that it helps to slow down the disease
Tranquilizer
It helps especially in neurotic conditions, as well as in depression. In general, sage is recommended in cases of physical and mental overwork.
In what ways can we include it in the diet?
The simplest way to enjoy sage is to make it into tea.
In a cup of boiling water pour a tablespoon of sage leaves and let them soak until the tea is as strong as you want.
Then drain the leaves, add (if desired) sugar, honey or lemon and enjoy.
