Four reasons to put it in your diet

Cocoa has high concentrations of flavonoids and procyanidins, ingredients with antioxidant activity that fight free radicals and protect against cancer, heart disease and aging.

It is very rare to find so many nutrients concentrated in a single product, which is why cocoa is considered a superfood.


According to research from Cornell University, the concentration of antioxidants in hot cocoa is almost twice as strong as in red wine, 2-3 times stronger than green tea and 3-5 times stronger than black tea. The study's lead author, Professor Chang Yong Lee, reports that more antioxidants are released when cocoa is heated. These antioxidants contribute to anti-aging, detoxification of the liver and blood, cardiovascular health and lower cholesterol and sugar levels.

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death worldwide for both men and women. The flavonoids contained in cocoa improve the elasticity of blood vessels and blood circulation. They also help reduce platelet aggregation, making cocoa similar to aspirin. A cup of hot cocoa is the best way to protect the health of your blood vessels.

Good mood

Cocoa powder increases the levels of mood-enhancing neurotransmitters in the brain. It activates serotonin, the joy hormone and endorphins and acts like antidepressants, causing feelings of joy and pleasure and strengthening the body's defenses against stress.

Strengthens the immune system

Just one tablespoon of sugar-free cocoa powder provides 3-9% of the recommended daily intake of iron, manganese, magnesium and zinc. In addition to transporting oxygen, iron helps produce red blood cells and is vital for your immune system. Manganese is a component of cartilage and bone, which helps in the metabolism of enzymes and nutrients. Magnesium helps maintain energy and a normal heart rate. Zinc is vital for the production and growth of new cells and cells of the immune system. Without enough zinc, the number of cells that fight bacteria decreases and makes you more vulnerable to disease.

5 ways to make the perfect cocoa drink!

Classic recipe
Put in a kettle 1 cup of water and 1 tablespoon of cocoa.
Place on medium heat.
Stir to dissolve the cocoa.
Bring the drink to a simmer, until it swells.
Remove from the heat and serve.


Optionally we can add 1 orange peel during its preparation and remove it when serving.
We can replace water with milk, light or whole.
If we do not like unsweetened, we add as much sugar as we want.
We can also add cinnamon to the serving.
Spicy and exotic
In the same way as in the classic recipe,
put milk instead of water and cocoa in a kettle.
Add 3-4 tablespoons of sugar (coconut or black or brown or agave), a little cinnamon and a little cayenne pepper.
If you like it a lot, you can add a little ginger.
Heat your cocoa like the classic one, mix it once more and enjoy… responsibly!

Vegan and fragrant
Fill your kettle up to 3/4 with vegetable milk (soy, ideally vanilla but also with chocolate or classic flavor, if you prefer, almond or hazelnut) and
add 2 tablespoons cocoa and 2-4 teaspoons sugar or maple syrup.
Heat it in the same way as the classic, mix it and you will enjoy you have the perfect drink!

Irish cocoa
Follow all the steps I give to traditional cocoa, but now you can add a shot of your favorite rum or liqueur to your cup.
Warm up, stir and enjoy responsibly…

Cold cocoa drink

Put the cocoa and sugar in the glass.
Heat 1 tablespoon water and beat with the frappe mixer until the cocoa melts.
Pour in 2 ice cubes.
Add milk to the middle of the glass.
Beat to mix the ingredients a little.
Optionally add 1 teaspoon of merenda.
Beat a little more to melt it too.
Add cold water until the glass is full.
And now we enjoy.
