NOW 100% natural E-400 contains 400 IU of non-esterified D-alpha tocopherol, whose antioxidant activity enhances the health of the cardiovascular and immune systems, ligaments and skin tissue.
The synthetic form of alpha-tocopherol is not completely absorbed to the same degree. About half remain in the blood plasma, while the rest is excreted from the body. Therefore, the natural form of D-alpha tocopherol is twice as active as the corresponding synthetic one.
The usefulness of vitamin E in all cell types is a given. Protects the membranes of blood cells, nervous system, skeletal muscle and retina of the eye from the negative effects of free radicals.
Research studies have shown that intense physical exercise increases the production of free radicals, so taking vitamin E supplements protects against the known oxidative stress caused in the body.
The E-400 formulation is augmented with 100 micrograms of selenium. Selenium is integrated with proteins to make selenoproteins, which are important antioxidant enzymes. The antioxidant properties of selenoproteins prevent cell damage caused by free radicals.
As a dietary supplement, take 1 soft capsule daily, preferably with food.
