Paliouri
It is the fruit of a thorny shrub used as an herb for the urinary and respiratory systems.

HISTORICAL DATA:
Paliouri (Paliurus spina-christi), is also called "thorn of Christ", from an old legend that the thorny branches of the bush were used to make the crown of thorns that was placed on the head of Christ before his crucifixion.
A second name is "tsali" and seems to be of Turkish origin.

WAY OF USE:
Boil the water first and after removing it from the heat, add 10 leaves for each cup of drink.
Cover for 5-10 minutes and pass the drink through a fine strainer.
