Black cumin oil - 100ml
Biological product

Melanthion has been used in the East for over 2,000 years as a spice and medicinal plant. Bio Planete black cumin oil is produced from high quality Egyptian seeds, which are gently pressed and filtered once. Due to the full ripening of the seeds used, this delicate oil contains less bitter substances and tannins and thus is mild and digestible, without losing its strong spicy taste.

The seed oil from the traditional oriental medicinal plant Melanthion of Bio Planete is ideal for people who follow a healthy diet, vegetarians and people with increased energy needs.

The gold of the Pharaohs

Black cumin oil contains a very good fatty acid composition with a high content of polyunsaturated linoleic acid (ω6). It promotes the metabolism of fats and the maintenance of normal cholesterol levels in the blood and contains the antibacterial active substance thymoquinone, for which this oil owes its healing properties. "Pharaoh's gold" is also an effective tool for the treatment of asthma and allergies and is used due to its anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties, even in cancer.

Tip for use

The hot spicy oil is particularly suitable for oriental dishes and is ideal for extra flavor in salads, various sauces and vegetables or in a detox drink e.g. with honey or juice.

It also contains 0.5 to 1.5% essential oils and so is especially beloved in aromatherapy. It is also recommended for external use, such as for infections or minor skin injuries.

This oil is suitable for vegetarians and homophagous.

More detail

Nigella sativa has been shown to have antioxidant, antihypertensive and diuretic effects that work to lower blood pressure.

Its vasoconstrictive effect was the focus of a double-blind, clinical trial of 70 healthy individuals aged 34 to 63 years with systolic blood pressure ranging from 110 to 140 mm Hg and diastolic blood pressure from 60 to 90 mm Hg. (The American Heart Association defines the optimal range for blood pressure below 120/80 mm Hg.)

The results suggest that an oral intake of 5 mL of Nigella sativa oil for eight weeks significantly reduced systolic and diastolic blood pressure without obvious adverse effects.

When taken orally as a supplement, it has been shown to improve dyslipidemia. The results of a four-week clinical trial suggest that Nigella sativa supplementation reduced total cholesterol by 5%, LDL cholesterol by 8% and triglyceride levels by 17%.

A study in menopausal women with hyperlipidemia linked Nigella sativa supplementation with a 27% reduction in LDL cholesterol, a 22% reduction in triglycerides and a 16% reduction in total cholesterol. The researchers noted a slight but statistically insignificant improvement in HDL cholesterol levels. The researchers observed that when women stopped taking the supplement, their lipid profiles returned to previous levels.

An analysis of overweight women showed that eight weeks of taking Nigella sativa supplement in combination with aerobic activity had a synergistic effect on improving lipid profiles. The researchers saw a 5% reduction in total cholesterol, an 8% reduction in triglycerides, a 5% reduction in LDL cholesterol and a 6% increase in HDL cholesterol.

In a 12-week study published in September 2012 in the Journal of Family Community Medicine, researchers compared the effects of three different doses of Nigella sativa supplements (1, 2 and 3 g / day) on the lipid profiles of 94 people with type 2 diabetes. patients who received 2 g. / day had significantly greater reductions in total cholesterol (up to 15%), LDL cholesterol (up to 17%), triglycerides (up to 22%) and an increase in HDL cholesterol up to 6%, compared with those who received 1 g. / day.

Cancer treatment
Researchers who have studied the herb in vitro have found that thymoquinone, the predominant bioactive ingredient in Nigella sativa, can cause apoptosis (cell death) and slow the progression of breast cancer, glioblastoma, melanoma, some cervix, osteosarcoma and lymphoblastic leukemia. Thymoquinone analogues have been shown to inhibit the proliferation of pancreatic cancer cells in vitro and enhance the sensitivity of cancer cells to chemotherapy. The results of a recent in vitro study showed that Nigella sativa seed extract significantly reduces the viability of lung cancer cells.

A study has shown that Nigella sativa supplementation could improve blood glucose control in patients with type 2 diabetes. The results of a recent study in experimental animals suggest that Nigella sativa supplements may help lower blood glucose levels and improve serum lipid profiles for the treatment of diabetes and related comorbidities.

Cognitive function
A study in 40 healthy elderly patients showed that 1 g / day Nigella sativa enhanced memory and cognition without adverse side effects. Based on these findings, the researchers highlighted the need for further research into the role of Nigella sativa in preventing or slowing the progression of Alzheimer's disease.

Liver health
A study published in the April 2013 issue of the World Journal of Gastroenterology found an association between liver protection and Nigella sativa in people with hepatitis C. The researchers concluded that 1,350 mg / day Nigella sativa was tolerable, safe and reduced. viral load between participants. In addition, this dose has been found to improve oxidative stress, clinical status, and blood glucose levels in patients with diabetes and hepatitis C.

Rheumatoid arthritis
The beneficial, immunomodulatory effects of Nigella sativa have been the focus of a recent study in people with rheumatoid arthritis. Among a group of 40 women with rheumatoid arthritis, a dose of 500 mg Nigella sativa oil twice daily was associated with a reduction in disease symptoms suggesting that Nigella sativa may be a potential adjunct therapy for rheumatoid arthritis.

A double-blind study investigated the anti-inflammatory effects of Nigella sativa in patients with allergic rhinitis. The results showed a reduction in some common symptoms such as nasal itching, congestion, runny nose and sneezing. The researchers noted that this supplement could be considered as a treatment for allergic rhinitis when the side effects of common allergy medications should be avoided.

Possible side effects

Concomitant use of Nigella sativa and antihypertensive drugs can cause your blood pressure to drop sharply, causing hypotension.
