The aesthetic need for white teeth and a bright smile that often "bombard" us in ads, prompted some companies to make toothpastes that (some of them) contain hard abrasive ingredients that make teeth smooth after brushing, but over time they destroy the enamel. Also in an effort to convince the consumer that their products guarantee clean breath for hours, they have added strong chemicals such as disinfectants and deodorants, chemical dyes and artificial fragrances to mask the awful taste and smell of the chemicals. Some of these chemicals have been blamed for allergies as well as causing serious illness.

A good toothpaste should:
Contains antimicrobial agent to fight bacterial plaque & gingivitis.
Have anti-inflammatory properties to treat and avoid any inflammation.
To have a pleasant taste to "urge" us to use it often
To kill germs, bacteria and fungi to provide clean pleasant breath.
Do not contain sugar or saccharin which is sometimes used to give a sweet taste and to cover the strong and often bitter flavors of chemicals.
Have a healthy tube (do not let the paste come in contact with aluminum. Some companies use aluminum tubes without lamination)
Have a low abrasion index. Tooth enamel, if damaged, is not re-created!

Silica as a low abrasive agent with great cleaning and polishing ability, which cleans the teeth and effectively fights tartar without causing damage to the natural enamel of the teeth and damage to the gums.

Pistacia Lentiscus (mastic oil). Our toothpastes contain a significant amount of mastic oil, which has antibacterial and antimicrobial properties. Mastic oil prevents the appearance of bacteria, which are responsible for the formation of microbial plaque, caries, gingivitis and periodontitis. At the same time, mastic oil protects the oral cavity, without reducing the defense capacity of saliva because the body's saliva alone helps the oral environment maintain an acidic alkaline balance and fights bacteria. With the antimicrobial and antifungal properties of mastic oil, stomatitis and oral infections are prevented, while with its anti-inflammatory properties, any inflammations are prevented and treated. It also speeds up the healing of mouth ulcers. Clean breathing without annoying odors is also achieved not with the use of mint which has very temporary cooling properties but with mastic oil that keeps the mouth clean of germs and bacteria that cause the odor. Mastic oil also has some analgesic properties very useful for teeth that have already been attacked by caries.

Chamomila Recutita (matricaria extract)> Organic chamomile. The addition of organic chamomile with anti-inflammatory and healing action, effectively treats the gums helping to reduce / prevent inflammatory irritations and any bleeding gums.

Sodium Lauroyl sarcosinate: disinfectant / cleanser / foaming agent. Our toothpastes contain "Sodium Lauroyl sarcosinate" which is not dangerous and NO sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS) * (Read below about sulphate SLS). Other toothpastes contain "sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS)" which may be harmful.

Xylitol: It is a sweetening agent with a pleasant taste that does not contain sugar. Reduces levels of caries-causing bacteria in the mouth and promotes remineralization. It also inactivates the acids that cause bacteria.

Sorbitol: Homogenizer. Retains moisture and helps retain the paste in a homogeneous whole.
Xanthan gum. A thickening substance that improves the texture of the toothpaste
Titanium dioxide: White pigment.
Sodium benzoate: Necessary preservative so that the toothpaste does not need to be kept in the refrigerator.

In Mastic & herbs toothpastes, the following ingredients that have been found to be harmful or negative or have been blamed for adverse health effects have been replaced with other better / more suitable ones.

The toothpastes Mastic & herbs of the company ANEMOS:

Free of fluoride * (Read below about fluoride)

Finally, the tubes are practical and healthy, made of laminated aluminum, closed with wide caps so that they can stand upright and take up as little space as possible.

What is fluoride?
Fluoride is one of the most dangerous poisons and even ranks second. It has the ability to kill the beneficial bacteria - in addition to the harmful ones - those that help the proper functioning of the digestive system. Our grandmothers knew about its use as a rat poison. Hence the origin of the name from "Fthora".

The Nazis, knowing its "beneficial" properties, used it as a sedative in concentration camps. They thus achieved laziness, memory loss, diminished perception and thinking. Fluoride destroys a substance that is responsible for the proper functioning of the nervous system, acetylcholine. This results in inactivity in the transmission of commands to the brain, the weakening of memory while its lack is also responsible for Alzheimer's disease. In addition, it is responsible for a number of carcinogens, especially in the bones, as well as for osteoporosis and arthritis.

Since 1990, fluoride has been included in carcinogens by the US National Cancer Institute with evidence of bone cancer and osteosarcoma. The International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology has classified fluoride as an unacceptable dental drug due to its high toxicity. Research has shown that if a child consumes 50ml of fluoride toothpaste they can die. How is it possible for such a poison to circulate to such an extent and even be contained in products aimed at children or even infants? The story began in 1945 when a controversial experiment in America showed that fluoride intake could protect against caries. This experiment, despite being refuted by more recent (and more detailed) studies, continues to be a cornerstone of this practice even in the 21st century. The infamous research was augmented by the chemical industry in order to be able to get rid of their toxic waste for a fee! Therefore, the fluoride that has been used and is still used is not a processed or refined product but a common, toxic waste !!

It is especially harmful to the health of children's teeth as it destroys the tissues of both the developing teeth and the bones. Dozens of studies have proven the direct relationship between fluoride consumption even with a decrease in the human IQ !!

Apart from all this, fluoride is also: it is an aging factor, it destroys the bones, creating a "predisposition" for fractures, it causes osteosarcoma - that is, bone cancer! - but even worse, it causes damage to the chromosomes and consequently to the genetic code! The action of fluoride is very effectively replaced by the use of mastic oil and xylitol which has all the positives without the following side effects and problems that fluoride may create.

What is triclosan:
Triclosan. Triclosan, as shown in animal experiments, disrupts the endocrine system. Although this does not mean that it has the same effect on humans, experts are concerned because this substance is found in breast milk. Recently, the Canadian Medical Association called for a ban on its use in household products, as it is suspected that when it reacts with chlorine in water, it produces carcinogenic chloroform.

What is SLS?
It acts as a disinfectant and cleanser and as an emulsifier but with the following harmful effects:

May irritate the membranes of the mouth,
It causes a change in the structure of proteins (protein denaturation), which eventually leads to sores and allergic stomatitis.
Dissolves the inorganic substance of the enamel of the teeth.
Probably some amount of it remains (stored) in the eyes, in the mind in the heart and in the liver.
For the above reasons, instead of the dangerous "sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS)" in our toothpastes, the "Sodium Lauroyl sarcosinate" is used, which has not been accused of similar harmful effects.
